Gender Equality Law Gaps: Mongolia

Updated: Jun 15, 2021

Mongolian law on Gender Equality was approved back in 10 years ago. The National Gender Committee has been working on the implementation status of the Gender Equality Law since 2000, and currently a public consultation on the findings is going on until end of May, 2021. This action has been taken in accordance with the Law on Legislation of Mongolia, and once the findings were finalized, the next action of drafting a new draft of law, and/or amendment to the current law will be taken.

The main challenges of gender aspect are lack of institutional capacity, individual knowledge and approach, and resource and budget allocation although each government organization has a sub committee on Gender, as well as the private sector pays attention. BRP's deep experience on Gender Equality, we would be providing our insights for next improvement of this law, and please keep in touch with us if you have any specific clarification and support.
